Embodied Refuge

Non-religious, non-sectarian, and open to all faiths, Middleway Method Buddhist practices emphasizes personal experience as the basis of insight. Embodied Refuge retreat invites us to embody our own clear mind, insightful awareness, and physical presence. The practice emphasizes openness, relaxation, and critical thinking.

This is a nonresidential retreat held at Full Moon Rising, April 26-28, 2019. The weekend will consist of teachings, discussion, meditation practice, and mindful movement. Early-bird discounted tuition is $140 before April 1. Late registration will run until April 20 for $160. Need-based discounts are available, as no one is turned away for financial reasons. The retreat runs on Dana (the Pali word for generosity) and we ask you to pay what you feel you can afford.

Shari Sunshine has been a student and practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism for more than 35 years. Tobin Rangdrol, her son, began his study and practice as a teenager, more than 25 years ago. Together they have had the great fortune to study with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Chogyal Namkai Norbu, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, and Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche in India, Nepal, and the US. Shari serves as Director of the Mandala Wellness Center at Ratna Ling Retreat Center in Sonoma County, CA. Tobin serves as the Secretary and Manager of Communications at Rangiung Yeshe Gomde California, a remote forest retreat in Northern California. Working with Jenny DeDecker, they are the creators of Middleway Method, a wellness and service platform for embodied practice.





*Upcoming Workshops*

Mindful Connection Roundtable Discussion: January 17, 24, and 31, 2019. This three week series will touch on Head, Heart, and Hara, traversing the landscape of connection through three very different avenues. We will discuss the neuroscience of mindfulness, the depth of the heart space, and a recognition of our own truth.

Introduction to Meditation: This six week class will be held on Tuesday nights, Feb 5- March 12, 2019. Class will begin at 6:30 and run for one hour. Preregistration is requested.

Buddhist Mediation Retreat: California based teachers Tobin Rangdrol and Shari Sunshine will be traveling to Full Moon Rising to co-teach a retreat based on Buddhist practice. Retreat will be held April 26-28, 2019.

Craniosacral Training Workshops: Regina Callahan of Still Mountain Healer School for Craniosacral Studies will be teaching two continuing education classes at Full Moon Rising this spring.

  • Craniosacral 1: Groundwork will be held May 16-19, 2019. This class offer 28 CE Hours through NCBTMB. Tuition is $650. Pre-registration is required

  • Advanced Craniosacral Studies: The Temporomandibular Joint will be offered May 9-11, 2019 and offers 21 CE Hours through NCBTMB. Tuition is $500 and requires a minimum of 50 hours in craniosacral training.

Introduction to Meditation Course

This six week course is designed to introduce you to several styles of mindfulness and meditation to deepen your relationship with stillness, silence and your breath.  The focus of this class is to offer a variety of techniques for you to find the one that resonates with where you are right now.  The course will run October 12- November 16, 2017 on Thursday evenings from 6:45-7:45.  Please call or email with inquiry and pre-registration is requested.  Tuition is $50 for first time students and $15 for return students.  Looking forward to sitting together.  

*Note* this course will not be offered again until Winter of 2019 as Full Moon Rising will be offering a series of mindfulness roundtable discussions in 2018.  Please stay tuned for more information regarding those offerings.  

Yoga and Meditation Retreat

Full Moon Rising is offering a day long meditation retreat with an option to also participate in morning and afternoon yoga classes.  Tuition for the meditation retreat is $50 and $65 including the two yoga classes.  This fee will also include a light lunch. Participants will be instructed through varying meditation techniques and how to bring them into their lives, learning to slow down, breathe, and act from a place of compassion.  Meditation experience is not necessary, but helpful.  Please contact Jenny if you are interested.  Space is limited and will fill up quickly.
